Over 4 million innocent dogs and cats are put to sleep every year, that is about one every 8 seconds. We would like to put an end to this cycle with your help and by bringing public awareness to this calamity through our new organization called “Save a Dog Day.” Our first step is to encourage and support people in adopting an abandoned or abused pet. You can make a difference by supporting the success of these rescued animals. The dog you rescue just might save your life, please read our latest rescue success story.
We would like to introduce you to a very special rescue dog, named Sasha. She is the Save A Dog Day Organization’s first rescue animal success story. Sasha is now saving lives of other animals all because someone believed in her and adopted her when it seemed as if no one else would. You see Sasha was “too big” and most of the adoptions were going to the new puppies, while Sasha waited patiently in hopes of being given a second chance. Sasha starred in the following commercial called “Good Doggie.” Her commerical was entered into the 2012 Crash the Super Bowl contest.
If you have a rescue dog and want to share how they have made a difference in your life or the life of a loved one please contact us with your animal shelter success story.
Please sign up for our Save a Dog Day movement. We will give you monthly updates on the dogs that have achieved success as well as occasional reminders about a dog or two that may still need all of our help. We do not asked for money, just your help in supporting these often-helpless creatures. Note – we are building and processing the site and the Save A Dog Day movement as fast as we can. We have an all-volunteer network, filled with people like you, who just want to make a difference. Thank you for visiting our site and taking a moment to care, but please join us so we can build a core group of people who can truly effect change in the unnecessary waste of lives taking place every 8 seconds.

Please read how one dog saved a man’s life because someone saved her life a few days before.
The primary mission of Save a Dog Day is to establish a national day of recognition dedicated to supporting dog rescue programs, encourage volunteering at local animal shelters, and bringing more awareness to the need for dog adoption. We have also been know to help a few cats as well.
